Happy Thanksgiving! And a shout out to my big sis on her birthday! (Even though I'm updating this page what, two weeks after the fact?) At any rate. Laura wanted a picture of our entire table and Audrey's place cards that she made and I wanted a picture of our deviled eggs in the awesome deviled egg dish that my grandma gave us for our wedding. So, we all got what we wanted :)

Laura gets top billing for today's pic! These are the cupcakes that she made to take into Audrey's classroom for her birthday celebration. A bit belated, to be sure, but what else can you do when the entire family (well, except me) has been sick for the first three weeks of November? I took the bottom pic on the metro.

The goal was to take a picture when I went grocery shopping today. This is the display of tube cheeses. You can get shrimp cheese and ham cheese and salami cheese and lobster cheese and crayfish cheese. Yummer.

Laura is so cute!  She volunteered to make treats for Audrey's Halloween party (I don't know why it was so early).  So, she put together these little witches, out of a marshmallow, a chocolate cookie and a Hershey Kiss!

Thanks to Laura for taking the picture of me at kilometer marker 20 of my 30K today.  The race didn't go quite as well as I had hoped.  The first 20 K were OK, but then I got leg cramps really bad, leading to me having to walk for 2K, leading to a really really bad last 10K.  Final time was 3:30.49 - I had hoped for under 3, but oh well.  The best part was that Laura and the kids came to cheer me on.  They saw me at 20K and then again at the end - which means they had to wait around for awhile in between, but they had fun dancing to the music and running around. After the race, we went out for pizza for dinner (I got my reward of banana-ham-curry pizza!) - I took the picture of the kids watching the pizza guys.  Oh, and check out Tim's mouthful of breadstick.  We're giving him more and more big kid food and he's loving it.

We took the kids to the local Konditori and the library for our Family Home Evening treat and activity tonight.  It was lovely.  We got to sit outside and enjoy both the weather and the goodies. :)

Fun day today!  The highlight was an early evening trip to the forest with the kids to pluck blueberries.  The blueberries grow on low bushes here, but if you find the right place, they're everywhere.  Audrey and Chester and I went to forest and plucked some berries, thoroughly turning our fingers purple in the process. When we brought them home, Laura turned them into yummy yummy blueberry crepes with lemon sauce (sooooooooo good - recipe behind the cut, along with the rest of the pics).  Earlier today, the kids decided they wanted to play Halloween, so they dressed up in some costumes and went trick or treating to where I was hanging out in the playhouse.  It was fun!

Today is a very very very big day in my life.  Today is day ONE THOUSAND of my Photo-a-day.  One thousand days.  Crazy.  At any rate, I meant to have a bit more of a splash, but today turned out to be quite busy, so the rest of the fun and games will have to wait until tomorrow.  As will the rest of the busy-ness that was today.  (On another note, I meant to have cooler decorations for the cupcakes, but turns out that the store didn't have number candles, and we ran out of ours.  Oh well....)

Since I was out with the missionaries last night, we had our FHE tonight!  Chester gave a very good lesson about the pioneers, and how they walked and walked and walked and walked, and then we harvested our red currants for the activity!

I did a little bit of gardening today (as befits a Saturday!) and noticed that our red currants are just about there.  I also ran a 15K this morning as part of my training - that's half of what I have to do in about 10 weeks!  I can do it!

Happy 4th of July!  These are the candies that Laura bought to celebrate the occassion.  We had a great day today, celebrating by going to the beach and hanging out with some other American ex-pats and then later watching Independence Day until, well, I fell asleep and we went to bed :)  Fun notes - I ran further than ever - 8 1/2 miles today! And I jumped off the 5 m diving platform at the beach.  Fun days!

Remember the strawberry from a few days back?  Well tonight it was ready to pick and eat.  Of course, we had to split it four ways, so everyone just got a little taste, but it was still yummy!
