This picture is taken in honor of my mom's birthday today (Happy Birthday, Ma!). For those of you who know her, this picture makes perfect sense. For those of you who don't, you may be scratching your heads in befuddlement, but you'll just get to scratch.

I actually took a different picture today with work's camera at a work related event, but it got lost in the cybersphere somewhere when I tried to e-mail it to myself. So you get a placeholder - a pic I took on the way home. I always think it's funny when foreign license plates spell words :)

The goal was to take a picture when I went grocery shopping today. This is the display of tube cheeses. You can get shrimp cheese and ham cheese and salami cheese and lobster cheese and crayfish cheese. Yummer.

My grandma is so cute. Because we're living overseas, she tapes Dancing With the Stars for us and sends the tapes so that we can get our American TV fix. I guess we've been watching too much Dancing lately, because we found this drawing in Audrey's room. If you read it semi-phonetically, it's easy to see how "Care & Inobin" is actually "Carrie Ann Inaba." Audrey even drew three paddles, although I don't really think the judges would give a 10, an 11 and a 1 for the same dance!

Not the sharpest of pictures, but a couple cute shots of Chester nonetheless.

This was the last light I turned off tonight before I went to bed.

Today was Audrey's Birthday!  Poor Audrey.  She was sick for her birthday last year, so we had to cancel her party, and her brothers are sick for her birthday this year, so we had to cancel her party.  We still had fun at home, though.  We hung up all sorts of Hello Kitty stuff, opened presents, ate Princess Tårta, took some birthday portraits, webcammed with the grandparents and had a wonderful day.  As far as the portraits go, the second to last one wasn't posed, I just happened to get her looking like a rocker, and the bottom one is with her new blanket, one of her presents.

This is me trying to look mean whilst showing off my new beanie and my new 'burns.  I think the bottom pic, although the light is messed up, makes me look like a cat burglar getting caught in the headlights.

This little guy has been hanging out in our kitchen for the last few days.  I don't really know why.  He's a lego.  And he's pretty scary.  Right now he's by the spices.  Tomorrow, who knows?

I was doing a little shopping tonight and wandered into the Adidas store.  Apparently the winners of the Swedish Football (i.e. Soccer) championship were also there.  Cool.

Crossing the bridge.  I personally like the bus (red blur) on the right the best.

Laura wanted us to turn November into a month of Thanks, leading up to Thanksgiving, so we made this countdown calendar from
Sugardoodle.  It promises to be a fun exercise.  Especially the day we get to go eat ice cream. :)

During the past 2 days, Laura's lost the back to this earring TWICE, and I have found it for her TWICE.  Who's da man? Yeah, that's right.

Some more Halloween pics.  The family pic shows off all of our costumes, and then I tried to get more of the kids, since yesterday's wasn't that great.  Neither are these, for that matter, so you may get some more costume pics as I'll probably set up the studio and take some of the kids in there.  In case you're wondering, Laura was a farmer to match Timothy's chicken, and I was an MTC teacher, which, as my former missionaries would attest, is one of the scariest costumes ever.

Today was work's Halloween party, so I tried to get some pictures of the kids to show off how incredible Laura is.  Laura made both Audrey's and Chester's costumes this year.  Audrey is a peacock, and Chester is a marching band guy with a drum (inspired not by Laura, amazingly enough, but by his many many repeated viewings of "The Music Man."  The chicken costume is Old Navy (and you've seen it elsewhere on this site, we got it for Audrey's first Halloween.)

We carved pumpkins today.  Or rather, I carved the kids pumpkins.  After opening them up, Chester didn't want anything to do with "gut removal," and Audrey, although she made a valiant effort, was done after about 5 minutes.  The kids did draw what they wanted, however, and I carved their pictures.  Audrey's is on the left, and Chester's on the right.

I finally got around to posting some pics that Laura took when she took her trip to Italy a few weeks ago to visit friends.  Say hi to Florence, Pisa, and the Cinque Terre.

Laura worked long and hard on Chester's Halloween costume today.  He's going to be a marching band guy (with a drum!) a la "The Music Man."

Today we took a little drive to see some limestone (I think?) formations caused by wind and water erosion.  They said that the stone was originally coral reefs, and there were all these little circles in the rocks, presumably the old coral?  I don't know, but it's what it looked like to me.  It also reminded me a lot of Goblin Valley in Southern Utah. Then we went to the local museum, which was fun, and took the ferry back to Stockholm.  A quick trip, but a wonderful one!
